چکیده

Methods Migraine diagnosis was in accordance with ICHD-II. Diagnosis of pure menstrual migraine and menstrually-related migraine was confirmed by diary evidence from at least three menstrual cycles. Controls were women with no personal or family history of migraine, age and ethnicity matched to cases, where possible. A total of 37 variants distributed across14 genes were genotyped in 437 DNA samples (282 cases and 155 controls [median age 45.0 vs. 39.5 years]). In addition levels of gene expression were determined in 74 cDNA samples (41 cases and 33 controls [median age 42.0 vs. 35.5 years]). Association and correlation analysis were performed using Plink and RStudio.

Review on the role of host genetic factors in the susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2

Background: Severe acute respiratory system Cov-2 pandemic has affected the world populations for more than one year. Different incidence and severity of this viral disease among various age range and individuals with different background disease may indicate the pivotal role of host genetic factors in their prevalence and mortality rate. In this regards, present study was performed to review t...

P30: Are There Anxious Genes?

Anxiety comprises many clinical descriptions and phenotypes. A genetic predisposition to anxiety is undoubted; however, the nature and extent of that contribution is still unclear. Extensive genetic studies of the serotonin (5-hydroxytryptamine, 5-HT) transporter (5-HTT) gene have revealed how variation in gene expression can be correlated with anxiety phenotypes. Complete genome-wide linkage s...

P83: Role of Neuregulin 3 Genes Expression on Attention Deficits in Schizophrenia

Genetic epidemiological studies strongly suggest that additive and interactive genes, each with small effects, mediate the genetic vulnerability for schizophrenia. With the human genome working draft at hand, candidate gene (and ultimately large-scale genome-wide) association studies are gaining renewed interest in the effort to unravel the complex genetics of schizophrenia. Linkage and fine ma...

The effect of 17β-estradiol on gene expression of calcitonin gene-related peptide and some pro-inflammatory mediators in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from patients with pure menstrual migraine

Objective(s):The neuropeptide calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) has long been postulated to play an integral role in the pathophysiology of migraine. Earlier studies showed that CGRP can stimulate the synthesis and release of nitric oxide (NO) and cytokines from trigeminal ganglion glial cells. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of 17β-estradiol in regulation of CGRP exp...

The Association Between Genetic Variants in Extended Spectrum Beta-Lactamases and AmpC-producing Gram-Negative Bacilli and Antibiotic Resistance

Background and Objective: A large group of genes associated with extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL) and AmpC expression is involved in inducing antibiotic resistance in various bacteria. Identifying these genes and assessing their harboring will be crucial in determining the pattern of antibiotic resistance. This study aimed to characterize genetic variants in extended-spectrum beta-lacta...
